Okay..I got 4.10 Gears for Christmas..about ready to put them in but, want to make sure this is the right choice. I drive my car in Spring and Summer for the most part. Not every day but, alot of the nice days. No long trips but, perhaps a few coming up. Carlisle for 1 and maybe to some in events in NC. So at the most I would say 6 hours. Did I go to far with 4.10's? Should I have gone 3.90's or 3.73's?? I don't care about the gas mileage issue just if I might possibly cause damage to other parts of the car.

Thanks!

No you didn't go too far. In fact you did it just right!
4.10's rock! The 4.10 gear is in my opinion easier to drive around
town. You can get to 5th quicker and stay in it longer. This
reduces shifts in traffic. If you desire you can start in 2nd gear,
but it burns the clutch a little. Wait until you go busting through
the gear box on a freeway entrance ramp. You will love it.
I've been running a 4.10 in my '01 Cobra for about a year, it's great.

If you're worried about going too far....... don't be. In my opinion, you didn't go far enough. 4.30's minimum for a N/A car. Once you drive the car with 4.10's, you'll be glad you did them and not a 3.73 or 3.90. You may wish you'd gone with a 4.30 (or 4.56:D)

I have 4.30s in mine and they are fine. If you have ever driven an import car around at all, the rpms won't bother you. Most imports I have driven turn around 3000 at interstate speeds. No big deal. My mileage is still good as long as I keep it to 80 or less on trips.
