Something looks really OFF with this car can you tell??

the rims are not SVT rims, and the seats don't have the grey suede, and there isn't SVT embroidery on the seats... other than that, i can't point out anything else, although there is something wrong with the exterior of the car, can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it's too high up (wrong suspensioin maybe??).

It looks like an 01 cobra that has been modified with 03 parts.

Looks like an 03 Cobra with Mustang seats and 01 Cobra wheels. Someone probably had a GT or 01 Cobra and wanted the Cobra seats in it or wanted the wheels and seats? Either way, I say it's an 03 judging by the engine and steering wheel and they changed out the seats and wheels. Who wouldn't want Cobra seats and chrome 03 wheels on their Snake? :rotf:

I didn't notice anything other than the wheels and seats. If you could read the build date and vin, you may solve the mystery.

It is an '03 I did a Title check but yeah it's been replaced by some '01 parts, I think!?

03Venum got it

The wheels are 02-04 GT polished (carryovers from the 01 Cobra, but with the mustang insert instead of SVT) (hence the tires are 245 instead of 275)

The seats are 99 Cobra /99-04 GT Leather seats

The suspension is not stock.. it is too jacked up for an 03. More than likely off of a 99 or 01 cobra judging by the 4x4.

Someone got a little extra cash on the side when selling that thing to an uneducated buyer.

I would ask them to take those parts off the price since they are drastically different and the car ir no longer original and devalued due to cheaper parts being on it.

I was thinking the same thing... but everything else on the car is exactly right. The motor is correct as well as the guage cluster... and those guages would be hard to "copy" more or less as they are the electroluminesent cluster.

Strange why someone would swap the seats though...

I would not mind having the 03 seats in my 01 cobra, but it would be easier to just trade in the 01 for a newer version. Perhaps the vehicle as in a wreck and was rebuilt with parts from the same yard it found its way in.

on second thought and finnaly seeing the pictures, The seats are definately from a run of the mill pony as well as the wheels. Perhaps the previous owner was displeased with the 03 but preferred the better seats and wheels than what was in the another mustang.

You can tell the year of any car by the 10th # in the VIN which in this case is a 3. But as everyone said the seats and wheels were changed who knows why? But I would look it over really close and point them out to the dealer! It isn't a great buy to start with. I paid 27K for mine almost a year ago with only 3K on the odometer, and have seen more since for about the same price.

The first thing that came to my mind was a theft recovery vehicle---The seats, wheels and little things like that are some of the easiest things to get off. It would make sense.

With the way that thing is sitting I wonder if someone swapped in a live axle? this could have been quite a donor car. I read about guys in chicago renting new cars to swap out drivelines and tires

The full carfax report may tell:

"IMPORTANT! The 12 records on this 2003 FORD MUSTANG COBRA SVT will confirm a clean history or uncover potential problems. Find out by ordering the complete CARFAX Vehicle History Report (http://www.carfax.com/cfm/purchase_options.cfm?request_type=Options&vin=1FAFP48Y63F324455&partner=EBZ_2_DEC_31&vehicle=2003_FORD_MUSTANG_COBRA_SVT&ClickID=&SiteID=&suggest=N&FID=2867)."

12 records seems like a lot for such a new car.

Me too .... the items missing or off are easily theft if not swapped items.
Hope the buyer is aware of what is missing.
