View Full Version : Crank Pulley Spacer?

Ok, i just got cleaned up from looking at my current pulley alignment situation.
Initially, I was really focusing on the alternator pulley... but after a few minutes, I realized that the crank pulley is actually sitting further back than all the other pulleys

Where should I go from here? What is the best way to push the crank pulley out further? A spacer, washer, what? I have no clue where to begin...

so, I now have two problems:
1. how to correct?
2. how much spacing?

Here are some pics.

The outer lip of the crank pulley is even wider than the idler...

Use a level to help you measure the gap so you can see how much you need to move the pulley. I am not sure on how to move the pulley :( , I will find out for you.

well, it doesn't have to be perfect. but obviously, the more accurate the better. and right now, it's far enough out to throw belts when i romp on it.

i'm going to start by removing the outer ring of the metco pulley & spacing it out with a washer on each bolt before i tear into it any further.

I sent the picture to the guys who worked on Carls's car and my car, I will ask them what they think on Monday and forward the info to you
