View Full Version : just bought a cobra

I've owned a 91 GT vert for about 7 years. It had all the basic mods on it like ram air, pulleys, bumped up timing, long tube headers, H-pipe and flowmaster mufflers. I had a lot of fun with it but I thought it was time to get something a little newer so I sold it for $5,500 and I just purchased a black 2003 cobra vert with 9,000 miles for $26,500:) I'm having a lot of fun winding up the supercharger. However, when ever I try to shift into 5th gear, it sometimes dosen't go into gear, it makes a scrapping sound and I have to put the clutch back in and re-shift it into 5th:( . Has anyone had any problems like this?

Happened to me going into 1st gear a few times when I first got my car. Hasn't happened recently. Since the clutch is so stiff. I think I wasn't pushing it down all the way. If it keeps happening I'd get it checked out.

Just a thought. I wonder if the mechanical lock out for reverse could be the problem?

Stang03~ Congrats! I can't say that I've had a problem with shifting into 5th gear but I can say that I've missed 3rd gear more times than I'd like to count. Even with the new model year coming out the '03/'04 Cobra's are a fine piece of machinery. That said, enjoy!
