2001 cobra wheels

Are the Aluminum wheels on the 2001 cobra covered in clear coat. I was going to polish them with aluminum polish but if they have a clear coat then it would just take off the clear coat.

I'm sure the 01 is the same as the 99.. If they are it should be clear coat..

They are clear coated. It all depends on what type of aluminum polish you are using. I had used Mothers aluminum polish on them and it did not do much. More than likely it will scratch up the clear coat. There are better wheel products out there that will spice them up a bit. P21s works great if the wheels are dirty, also, the armorall wheel dressing spray will shine up wheels nicely. I found that out after cleaning up the overspray off the wheels. It probably is not best to use it as a wheel cleaner directly.
