That's robbery!!!!!
I am 25 years old, married and I have 6 points on my driving record, and my insurance for a year on my 2001 cobra is $2,300. I am through progressive. When I was a little younger and had a few more points that was the only insurance company that would insure me. I think you definiately need to shop around.

Ouch! That's worse than the quote I got from GEICO when I tried comparing them to my insurance company. Did they say it was due to geographics and loss rates etc.?

Keep looking !! On my 04 Cobra I have Allstate full coverage and pay $564.00 every 6 months with a $500 deductible. I'm 27,male,single to top that off and have some moving violations on my record.I dont think thats a bad deal at all to replace a $37,000 car.State to your insurance that you use it as a secondary vehicle, your primary being insured as your everyday work beater and that it will be garaged kept, that usually helps.Good luck and hope you can find something affordable.......Skill

$5500 a year sounds like lease payments, not insurance payments.

I got a quote for Progessive today of $2200.00 a year. Things are getting better, I'm just waiting for the guy to pick up my Harley to get the Cobra. I don't have any points or ever had a DUI as if I did I would be done for eveything, I drive a firetruck. Still shopping too for insurance.

$1012.80 a year, 250.00 deductable, Geico. Try for a multi car discount, tell them the car is garaged and is used for pleasure.

I'm 40 also and pay $ 1,185 a year with allstate. The car is listed as pleasure and is only driven 5000-7000 miles a year. Keep in mind insurance rates are also based on where you live due to theft and wrecks.

Try finding a insurance agent that insures collector cars. Your Cobra will quailifie. My agent is not liscened in your state. I think there is a company called Hagertys that does colecter cars. I have a 99 and full coverage with good limits with a vaule of $25000.(age 49 ,single ,with clean driving record.). Cost my $472. per year.

Dont belive those adds from those geeks at geico. They need your money to pay for thier tv adds.

I pay between 800 and 900 a year on my '03. It is the most expensive of all my cars. We are with Auto Owners Insurance. My Lightning gets treated just like a F150 when it comes to insurance.:rotf:
