View Full Version : get that squeek fixed!

You might think I am nuts by putting on snow tires on a Cobra, not really, since summer tires do not grip well when the temps fall below 40F. I also noticed a creaking when turning the steering wheel. My first thoughts were crapy ball joints. I looked through the manuals just for smiles and grins and noticed that they have greese fittings indicated as mantainance items. Sure enough, there were real grease fittings on the tie rode ends on all four corners. After removing the wheels, I greased them up, put the snows on, and no more creaking! It makes me wonder if they ever had any lubrication in them at all.

I was wondering where this thread was. Oops, put it in the wrong place. Unfortunately Ford did not implement the greas fittings on the mustang prior to 03 and I thing it is only on the SVT products. Sorry to get your hopes up if I did.
