Not like CCW or anything. I mean a place that will quote making wheels from scratch. I have always wondered how much it would cost to get 99/01 wheels made in a 9 or 10.5.

I know there's a place in Dallas that widens wheels. That's what I plan on doing when I get another set of stock '97 Cobra rims.

This is taken from someone off FP:
"I talked to the dude who does it at Weldcraft. He said it's about $150 per rim. He didn't mention needing a donor rim. I believe he has the materials to do it. He also said that while they are weaker than stock (of course) that he was not aware of any failures. True the offset will be deeper by the amount you widen as you can't widen the front of the rim, so you may need a spacer. I am getting a pair of stock rims widened 1 1/2 inches and I'm going to run a 1" or 3/4" HR spacer. I like the stock rims and to me it will be worth it. The stockers are $69 each from KarKraft. The only thing that might change my mind is if they get some more of those 03 Cobra rims for $99."

Thanks for the info. I kinda looked into that a while back. But I am on the fence with it. I would be scared to widen the wheel, especially since I fell i want to go with a 9" wheel for open tracking.

oh and where did this guy see the wheel for $69?

You might get a couple of opinions on that from respected shops. From what I've "heard", the material and/or process used to make the 97 (and 01) rims is not safe to widen. Don't know if it's true or not, but worth researching before spending $$ on the wheels.

BTW: GEFRacing has the plain 03 rims for 150 each (and the 10th anniv too for that price). Plain 01 rims are under $110 each.
