I put a T45 from a 2001 Cobra :D into my 96 and didn't realize that the speedometer drives are different :( . I sold my old trans before I finished the car:mad: . The 2001 uses a magnetic sensor, not a gear dirven sensor like the 96. The pulse rate from the 2001 trans makes the speedometer read about five times what it should. So, I am looking for a tail housing and speedometer gear for an early T45 (96-98 Cobra) or a T45 for a 96-98. Any other ideas?

you have the right idea. Just change the housing and gear. Only other thing you can do is sell this one and get another.
