View Full Version : ??????????Limited slip?????????

I backed out of the driveway and one rear wheel came off the ground. So I sat there with the airborn wheel spinning, for a long time. Even at differing rpms the spinning wheel kept on spinning. Is there something wrong with this? My previous SVOS did not do this, they would just go. This Cobra just sat there. If I take off from a dead stop both rears will spin. Am just concerned. Any ideas???

That sounds odd... I usually find it hard to unlock the differential. What you could have done was apply the parking brake to apply pressure to the pads on the rotors which would have helped a bit. That almost sounds as if the clutches in the diff are worn out a bit. Limited slip does not equal full posi rear. I do not think traction control works in reverse (I could be wrong on that) if it did, the ABS should have corrected the wheel spin.

I thought the limited slip rears applied the power to the wheel with the lease resistance. Like if one was up in the air, or if you brake a halfshaft.
