Heya all!

I've found a local performance shop that seems reputable and they suggest doing a Diablo 'chip' vs. the Diablo Flash Tuner. Is there some site out there that compares the pros/cons of these two options? Or if someone has some advice it would be appreciated

Also, the 'chip' has 3 different tunes it can store and they are selectable. Does anyone have the details of how this works? Is it a physical switch? Does the car have to be turned off to switch between 'modes'? Any other peculiarities?

Has anyone ever done business with Pro Street Performance in the northern suburbs of Denver?

Thanks for your time!

 I"ll go with the flash tuner just if you plan for future modifications to the engine, because the air/fuel ratio will need to be customized again and with the flashtuner you can change your parameters as many times as you want

I have done research on this very question...but, with SCT. I can make it pretty simple for you....I hope.

Basically the tuner allows you to make changes to the car and dial it in..which most would say is a pro...unless your not sure what your doing..and then you could end up with a nice Cobra body...and a blown motor...that would be the con. Also..while you can dial the car in..you will have to turn the car off..dial it in or adjust and the wait for the car to "learn" the changes. In my opinion...a con also...but, some are fine with it.

If you are not savvy in the tuning area then I suggest a chip..which you have a tuner flash and install based upon your mods. Yes you can have a selectable one with the flip of a switch you can go from street tune, to race tune, to so on and on..you get the point....that is the pro...the con would be that...you have to have a reputable tuner flash the chip..so, that means money and time at shop..and probably, depending upon the mod you do to your car each time..you may need to reflash...

So...I hope that helps you a little bit with your decision...I am sure there are others here who can get more technical and provide more assistance. I, being that I am not tuner savvy, went with a chip..and will have Amazon Racing tune and flash the chip. I highly recommend Rick of Amazon Racing..for those of you who do not have a tuner. He is EXCELLENT, especially with the 03/04 Cobras.
