Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm deploying to the desert tomarrow, and plan to be gone for upwards of 7 months. This will be my 2nd trip to Iraq in the past few years. If I get access to the internet while I'm gone, I'll definately be back on the forums here to say hello and let you guys know how we're doing out there.
God Bless!

Josh

Josh,

Please be careful and follow this advice:

Shoot first, ask questions later. Trust no one while you are over there. If you have any doubt, take all measures that you can to protect yourself and the innocent.

Come back in one piece! Tell Greg hello for us too... :)

Josh, do one of your big burnouts in a Humvee and scare the hell out of the "insurgents". Best of luck over there.

My stepson (101st infrantry) is scheduled to go back over there later this year.

For your sake and his, I hope things can settle down in the middle east and people can get on with their lives.

Thanks everyone, I'm writing now from the Azores. On the island of Lajes (off the coast of portugal). Today I fly to the sand. Thanks everyone for writing. It means a lot to me. I'll come back safe, and I will shoot first and ask questions later. Once again, serving you guys is my pleasure. I brought my laptop, digital camera, and video camera, so I'll try to get some burnouts in a humvee for everyone's enjoyment. :rotf:

My next door neighbor just landed there a few days ago. To see a quick overview of what we're all about... look here. (http://www.usmc.mil/marinelink/mcn2000.nsf/main5/A50DD7F7945E410785256FA9003177D2?opendocument)

Maybe they will let you do some mods on a humvee. Come home in the same condition as you are now.

Thanks for your service.

Is that smoke from your Hum-Vee burn outs? Or is that is whats left of the bad guys?

That's not smoke from one of my burnouts. :rotf: That quote made me laugh though. That unfortunately, wasn't a bomb from us. Nobody was hurt in that attack though.

Didn't get to your post before you left, but am glad to see it looks like you can check in periodically. Be safe and God bless from a former Marine to a current one.

Take care of yourself, sir!

My way of saying "much respect", I guess! I got out as a Sergeant myself (better than 10 years ago) and still call everyone sir or ma'am. Your original post said you'd be there upward of 7 months - one's already gone and I hope the rest go quickly!

Be safe!!
