How come I cant find a black hard top 1997 Cobra with black leather? Its either tan leather on black coupe, Or black leather on red, white, etc coupe... Or black vert with black leather..

Am I just not looking in the right place?

Any one know where I could find some build numbers to see how many 97 coupes were made with black paint and black leather?

Thanks for that site.. It is really weird to me that there were more black leather black coupes than tan.. Because tan is almost always what I see in black coupes..

I did find a 97 black coupe with black leather for sale.. Its in ohio, (Im in Illinois) and it has 77,000 miles, they are asking $ 10,999 for it.. Probably gonna call and get more info on monday.

Seems a lil steep on price for a 97 vert with 77K. Drop um a grand or so and that might be more acceptable...

You have to take into account that around that milage, you may have some heavy maintenence to do on a Cobra that's been pushed hard. Even if it SEEMS like everything is in order, it doesn't mean yur good to go. Those costs can add up quick...take my word on it...i was one of the ones that overpayed WAAAAY too much. :rolleyes:

Actually that Black 97 Cobra in ohio is a Coupe.. But.. Just so I know what are some common problems with the 96-98 Cobras? I have heard of the secondary Intake manifold valves sticking and needing to be cleaned, But what else? Any major mechanical problems that are common?

They just simply aren't good transmissions. Other common problems (such as the one I experienced) was how syncro's go extremely quick. Whenever test drivin any Cobra, try soft and hard shifts BOTH on the 1 - 2 shift. Seems to be an extremely common occurance, or maybe just signs of a bad driver. You'll know immediately if their goin bad...cause it'll sound like yur trying to shift without a clutch. Either or, if they start goin bad, get ready to drop that whole tranny for a rebuilt one :eek: My advice...definetely avoid at all costs.
