I have a 98 cobra and have installed a Bissani exh. with Ford shorties. The next thing to do is the gear. Any ideas on what ratio would keep it a good 70 mph driver. Also I was looking for a Hypertech programmer and they say they don't make one for 96-98 cobras. Anyone know why?

Most everyone will tell you 410 gears for daily driving. Race applications require a lower gear like 430's or 456's.

Can't answer the chip question...

Welcome to the boards!

Why Try?

4.10's are the best gears for Cobra's, I have 4.10's and in 5th gear on the Highway at 80mph its right at about 3000rpm's

I was thinking 3:90 or 4:10. If it's going to run around 3000 rpm with 4:10's then there you go. I just put on the exhaust and it idled rough for a little while and even stalled once. Then the check engine light came on. It runs fine now. What could that be?

I found out what the check engine light was. The code was PO411, which is " secondary air injection hose broken". Turns out I bought Ford shorty headers and the air pump line doesn't hook up to the left header. Ford supplies block off plugs to defeat the emission's sytem. Nobody has a answer as to how to fix it right. I've heard anything from rebend the tube, to silicon hose. Bending the tube will not work because it's already bent in the place it needs to be bent. I don't think hose will last very long.
