Looking to get Bilsteins, but not sure where to get them. Anyone have any suggestions?? :dunno:

Would '03-04 Cobra front Bilsteins work with the H&R supersports?? I'm looking for something better than the old Tokico 5-ways I have now. Thanks guys.

gotta pay to play....

the 03/04 Coupe Bilsteins will mate up with the H&R SS, but if you get the H&R Race, you definitely need the MM revalves IMHO.

But, look to spend about $500 for the 03/04's unless you find a good deal.

I'll stick with the H&R SS as I have them still in my garage. :D

I can find slightly used 03/04 front Cobra struts for about $200-300

$638 doesn't seem too bad....wonder if I can still find a better deal on some 03/04 fronts

For what you can save on used 03/04 struts, you could spend on a set Bilstein quads to go along with the new rear shocks

just got new quad shocks.....Ford stock ones for $18 each. Besides i'm planning on going Torque Arm some time so I don't want to invest too much into quads.

While I advocate the MM race spec Bilsteins or Koni special Yellows (adjustable rebound and compression, going on my SVO with a special order MM control arm upgrade this week which will allow the Wilwood big brake kit up front) the best setup for your budget would be the Koni Sports (8741-1401 strut, 8041-1186 shock) which should run you around $530 for the car. I would also buy a set of '03/04 Cobra front control arms, will improve your turning radius about 10% and help firm up the front even with the stock rubber bushings (50% stiffer than '01 Cobras and back, non-R).

I wish you had posted about a week earlier. I sold a set of Saleen RaceCraft shocks and struts off my '99 Saleen for $200, they had all of 150 miles on them. I found them while unpacking the garage last weekend. They would have been a perfect match for your springs. That would have continued the streak of my previous car parts ending up in your garage. :D

I've been looking at the Koni's as well....just haven't heard much about them. I'll also look into the '03 front arms....thanks.

Yea...I have quite a few things of yours..... :D

The Koni part numbers I listed will work very well on your car, they are adjustable also. I imagine you have already installed new end links, poly sway bar bushings, and the MM four point k-member brace.
I was digging in the garage tonight to see if any of my four banger parts would work on your Focus. If you go with a turbo then I can assist you with a couple of items. ;)

haven't gotten the new endlinks yet....or the MM K-brace, but have poly sway bar bushing and a lot of other new bushings to install. Couldn't find any place that sells the 03/04 front lower control arms, but will keep looking.

The biggest bang for the buck up front would be the MM K-Member brace followed by the '03 control arms.

I have an extra set of fronts struts from an 03 Cobra. Insurance adjuster had located a salvaged 03 and took the front end to repair my Cobra. I have the front stock springs, stock struts, and rack and pinion. After I install the coil overs front and rear this weekend, will have the 03 Cobra Steeda springs with MM spring isolators taken out. Make me a reasonable offer for the parts your want and I'll consider. Might be able to arrange sending them down on one of the truck runs that Houston Performance sends to Dallas. If you want to call me, I'll send you my phone number.

When will the club run another event at TWS? Missed being able to do the SVTOA last weekend, hoping that your have something in a few months so I can test out the latest suspension mods.

.....it's a black Focus so I'd be getting black or chrome if anything. I'd like to get these, but would get a chrome lip as well.

I just thought you would want to get in touch with your inner ricer self.

Actually, there is a guy at work with a black ZX3 that has the white wheels and white Shelby stripes down the middle of the car. I laugh everytime I see it and refer to him as Pepe LePew.
