I had a pulley install, 2.8, and when we started to do some dyno's my car started popping like firecrackers through the exhaust. Of course I freaked but the shop said it was my plugs. We removed the Iridium plugs and installed Autolite copper (regular ones). It stopped. What gap should I set my Iridiums at? I had them at .044? Closer then that ya think? I would like to put them back in but don't want problems. At the drag the other day Denso was a sponser and they of course were advertising Iridium plugs, so I figured they must be good?? What do you all think? The boost and richer mixture seemed to effect them.

The gap on irridiums should be 0.032 to 0.035. I fried a set with an 0.045 gap on them when I had the 01. I should have left them at 0.032. Yeah I know, not the same plug used in the 04 so they went to the round storage can in my garage. Sooner or later I will have to get a set for my 04 and run them at the correct gap. So far I have not had any issue with the stock plugs so I can wait a bit longer.
