SCMC Annual Carolina Meet -- Greensboro, NC -- January 12, 2008

Just thought I'd go ahead and post this up now so we can have some activity in the Carolinas forum.

Bowling

We have 6 lanes saved at Gate City Lanes. It is located at Exit 213, Guilford College Rd, on I40. If you are coming from the west on I40, you take a right off the exit, then right at the light. If you are coming from the east on I40, you take a left off the exit, then take a right onto Hornaday Rd.

5502 Hornaday Rd.

The cost will be $13 per person, with unlimited bowling from 10am-3pm. The alley is equipped with automatic bumpers, if you are to be bowling with kids, so that is cool.

Restaurant

The restaurant we had last year, Ham's, no longer books parties on Saturdays. So, we have decided to go to a very nice sandwich shop in High Point.

Harrison's 1807 North Main Street www.harrisonsdeli.com

They are located directly across from Carolina Kia, and the Bentley Dealer.

Their menu has salads ($1.95-6.45), appetizers ($1.59-7.29), sandwiches ($3.95-5.95), and even shishkabob platters ($5.25-10.95), desserts ($1.25-2.99). They have a few things for the kids, as well. They serve beer and wine, too!

Thanks to Mike and Bill for helping to get this put together!

so, are we going to take a vote on what we want to do? I will take part in organizing whatever, with the local places. So, let me know.

cobrabitn 11-19-2007 12:21 AM

Um, what is it you want to do?? :doubt:

nckissfan 11-19-2007 12:23 AM

it doesn't matter to me. I didn't know if your thoughts were for bowling, or for karting. Either way, I can make plans with either place.

cobrabitn 11-19-2007 12:26 AM

Oh, I thought you wanted to do something different?? Bowling of course...I already showed my skills at MSR last weekend. :rotf:

nckissfan 11-19-2007 12:32 AM

So, Burke needs another whoopin? What about Mike, he could probably stand for it, too:rotf:

I will get Tina to go talk with the guy at the bowling alley. Do I need to go set something up with the same restaurant? Or, is Bill going to do that? Go to a different restaurant?

I'd say go back to Ham's if we can get that upstairs space again. That worked out great last year.

Sounds like fun I think I will be able to make this year. Can I bring my 14 year old daughter with me too? Bowling sounds fun, haven't done that in ages. I may be able to bowl a 100 first time out, LOL!! :D They after I'm warmed up I will show you all my what I'm all about!! Bring it on Kevin Flick!!!

nckissfan 11-19-2007 08:55 AM

you better start working your arm out, cause if not, Tony will wear it off of you:rotf:

Yes, bring your daughter, the more the merrier:thumbsup:

I suck, bad!!! I may need a handicap of a 100 just to be in the race with some of you all PRO BOWLERS!!!

nckissfan 11-19-2007 09:33 AM

oh, I suck at bowling, too. It is more fun to watch Burke, Tony, Mike, and the others duke it out.

Kevin is ALIVE!!! :D I should have asked before I called you out if you are any good?????? Are you? Just may have to start practicing over here so when I do play I don't look like a blind man trying to bowl.

We bowled in TX and Burke won three games, I won one, and Mike....well.... I'm not going to go into what happened out on the road course. :rotf:

Of course you can bring your daughter, that's why we do the bowling thing so other family members can get involved. If I'm going to drive, I'd rather do it out on the open track...not that karting isn't fun.

We do have a bowling alley here in RH, I thought about getting some practice shots in before we meet up. :)

I'm sorry Mike, yes to all of your answers and Allan's suggestions. Hams for the meeting, upstairs, and maybe we can add a little to it this year with a surprise or something??
