Thanks! The first mod i wan to do is an axle back setup. I've heard alot of them on youtube and i think i want to go with the SLP loudmouth. Anyone have any input on this? I'm a firm believer on "the louder the better" Slogan! :p Maybe even adding an o/r x-pipe soon thereafter.

I added the SLP Loudmouth AB a few months ago, its great! loud, but not obnoxious, no drone....I'm sure it would be alot louder without cats, though....
I went through NJ inspection yesterday, no problems....in fact, it was a slow day, and 4 of the techs came over checking out the car, and busting on a fellow employee about the shelby vs. his honda :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

luvgun74 10-08-2008 04:34 PM

Yeah i think SLP's is what i'll go for, thanks for the encouragement! LOL I've owned a 98 cobra, 01 Stage 3 roush, an 07 roush 427r, and now this Shelby and i must admit. This one is definately the best one to drive no doubt about it! =)

It's recommended that you store your photos on a photo hosting site such as supermotors.org or photobucket, which allow you to link to them on message boards....

Looks like I'm your guinea pig for mods you may want to consider on an 09 Vista Blue GT500. You'll get a good idea of what your car will look and sound like with the exhaust, auto shield, and the motorsport racing springs at the end of Feb for the SVT gathering in Fort Mill. I had the springs installed along with the alignment last week at the dealership which lowered the car an inch or so and Steve is installing the auto shield tomorrow. I may have the JLT CAI by then... will have to wait and see. After that, I'll just play with her like she sits unless I see a nice set of wheels. I like the OZ Racing Raffaello III and Superleggera III wheels and just can't decide which ones to go with yet.

cobrabitn 02-16-2009 08:15 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing your mods Viper, especially hearing that exhaust and seeing how low the car is because I want to lower mine. I think it sits waaaaay too high!

Steve will be doing my Shelby with the clear on it as soon as I can get the car to him. He wanted to have it done before the Pro-Dyno Cruise-In.

Just got my car back from Steve. It will take a few days and some heat (probably from a hair dryer) to have the protectant film to "cure" and seat correctly. He promised to stand by his work if and replace any of the pieces if I was unsatisfied for any reason and that is all you can ask for. Steve is a great guy and I have been pleased with his professionalism and the quality of his work.

I spoke with some of my friends in the road racing community who have put Mustangs on the track and they HIGHLY recommended the Ford Motorsport Racing springs to lower the Shelby. Eibach lowers the car a little too much according to the racers. Basically, the Shelby needs some body roll to get through the corners effectively. Too much body roll and you have understeer, too little and you will have over steer characteristics and the back end will tend to step out on you. So I went with their recommendation. The rear is still a little higher than I expected, however the car really sticks to the road in the corners now. I guess those racer types know what they are talking about!:bounce:

I'm happy with the Ford Motorsport suspension pack on both my 07GT and 08GT500 for both street and road course use....I also know that the guys at Performance Auto Sport installed a full Griggs suspension, brake, and just about everything imaginable from Griggs on one of their customer's cars....I'm sure it wasnt cheap, but it is very impressive....

So far it's received a JLT CAI, 2.6 Metco Upper Pulley, Metco Double Bearing Auxillary Pulley, Eibach Pro-Kit, Borla Stingers, Clear Bra (front bumper, fenders & hood) and Custom Dyno Tune on a Mustang Dyno. The car ended up making 532rwhp & 514rwtq @ 14.2psi.

2010 SVT Cobra in Grabber Blue

Just adding my "baby" of 4 weeks: Stock GT500/SVT Cobra "stripe-delete" (no rocker or LeMans stripes; and no stripes on the black interior). Many magazines call the 2010 the "...fastest PRODUCTION car made in the World!" Hence, I call my MMX ("2010" in Roman Numerals) a "K I N G C O B R A"--NOT to be confused with the anemic 1978 King Cobra. This car runs 540 HP at 510 ft.-pds.:) :) :)

cobrabitn 10-08-2009 10:50 AM

Looks really good! Never saw a coupe without the stripes till now.... :)

SVTMADMAN 01-12-2010 09:16 PM

/\ youres is sharp as hell too! I like the wheels very unique as well. (in a good way;) ) I was on the edge with the white wheels but it ended up looking great but a cleaning nightmare. I really hated that ford didnt paint the bottom of the car so i cleaned that up and also got rid of the truck mirrors for the 2010s...i may have a new KB LC if taxes work out in my favor. 700+rwhp coming up:cool:

SVTMADMAN 01-12-2010 09:18 PM

btw whats the opinion of side scoops and 1/4 window scoops on my car?
