There's no harm in admiring beautiful cars. I do it all the time. the only problem with my car is..... it makes me spend money when i don't want to. Or, better yet, even when I don't have any. My last motor lasted a whopping 1156 miles. :( But, heck, this thing has come a long long way in the year and 2 months i've had it. I picked it up bone stock with a set of Flowmasters welded in. :)

smashedheadcat 01-15-2003 10:16 AM

Thank you so much for the compliments. Did someone but the '01 cobra??? I'm not sure if I read that or not. It looks like a flat out beautiful car, but I just can't afford it:(

doesn't that make it feel like its your very "own"....... makes you feel kind of like, well, like you get this warm feeling whenever you drive it....
its the way you want it to be!!

we bought Trigger absolutely bone stock in 1999 with 13K miles on it ---
vowed not to modify it. yeah, RIGHT !!

and, yes - money? what money.....

its all invested in the house and the cars and our kids ......

hey, its worth it!!

I have a deposit down on it -
but he was suppossed to call me on Monday night and has not done so...

if he doesn't call me by tomorrow, I have other buyers waiting.....
when springtime rolls around it is going to go for more than I am asking for it... I know it, and they know it......

absolutely mint, absolutely smooth and a pleasure to drive...

I'm gonna miss it.... I was actually going to use it for my every day car eventually - since I work at home.

However - our newly married daughter moved back home from California and they will be staying with us for awhile.

We have to make the room - eventually - our son is going to buy Bully - so theres no way I'll sell that one...

01 has to go..... :(

but for my kids - its worth it!

I've actually thought about selling this thing very recently. But, i know once i get in her and fire it up, it'll be perfect, and i'm never gonna let it go.

Josh --

what is wrong with your car right now?

.... its not fun when they are "down"......

but its nice to know that your friends care and understand how you feel!

smashedheadcat 01-15-2003 10:36 AM

I appreciate your concern Bonny. And it's wonderful to have friends that can help ya through it. Let me find a couple of links for ya.

redsnake99 01-15-2003 10:39 AM

Bonny, sell the Neon, sell the '01, put a Cobra engine in Bully.
Sounds very simple to me.

smashedheadcat 01-15-2003 10:40 AM

This thread is the full story. I've got another thread dedicated to the removal of my engine. This thread here is kinda long, but it didn't stray from it's topic at all. Some good advice, in there. :D

smashedheadcat 01-15-2003 10:42 AM

Thanks for the PM Bonny. I'll look for that thread. Don't worry about huntin it down for me. :D

smashedheadcat 01-15-2003 10:48 AM

This thread here has my run-in with pulling the mighty 4.6 liter. Pictures on this one as well. :D

Bully thanks you Dave....

and, the Neon is my son -in-law's car....

the Neon in no way shape, form, manifestation, or otherwise any sense of the word otherwise implied in any other way my car....

but -
I have used it for work on snowy days !!

Snake 01-16-2003 01:23 AM

i don't what my next mod might be, thinking about a short throw or some 3.73s in the rear. even thought about a aluminum drive shaft, too many choices.

---------------

I'll tell you what ---

that aluminum drive shaft made a different of night and day in our '98 ......

well, besides the conversion to a KB suspension...

But the al. drive shaft really smoothed the transmission out. We had been thinking we needed a new clutch - everything just seemed off kilter...

Now - new clutch? Nope, we still have the original and she's smooth as can be....

great idea ... go with the alum. drive shaft before the gear change if you can.

just my .02 cents worth

I that was definately a learning expirence. It would be rather simple to do if I didn't have long tubes on there. I think i could have a bone stock cobra motor out of the car in a matter of a few hours. I'm not sure about putting it back in yet though. We'll have to cross that bridge when i come to it. Thanks for the compliments on my sexy body ;):rotf:

Once again, I was just kiddin about the sexy body thing. :) Also, I don't have girls standing in line for me believe me. Most of them are scared off by my "He loves his cars more than girls" attitude. And to top that off, just being in the marines is enough to wipe out any chances with a girl in a 50 mile radius of any military base (except air force bases  ) . I, however, found THE girl I believe. So I take care of myself, and take my vitamins for her.

She takes wonderful care of me. My cobra hasn't been good enough to pose as any competition for the young lady. :D And if my car has to see any other "High Maintance" problems.... i'll sell it for dirt cheap, and buy myself a 5.0 I'd trade for a 1991 LX 5.0 knotch back.

Hey, can you share a picture of it with us?

I promise I'll share pics with ya once I get them here, more or less. The friend that's helping me do all the work has a digital camera and has taken pictures, but I haven't had him e-mail them to me yet. There's not a whole lot to show at the moment... just a dirty car with no rear suspension to speak of ;)

The list above is what I have for the car now, but not all of it is on the car yet and might be awhile before it all gets on. We only get to work on the car on Saturdays and when you've got more mods to do to the car than you can shake a stick at it takes a good deal of time. If you and Tim get to fly down for your anniversary to Kershaw it should have most of all the mods done by then... I'm hoping all the suspension components and the stand alone from SDS. If you both make it I'll give the both of you a ride if you'd like

I hope I haven't "tainted" the thread... you're the only person to reply since early this afternoon :(
