The best way to check the hubs is to jack that corner up and shake the wheel/tire with it still bolted on...better leverage that way.
If you haven't found the culprit, you should pull the pads off and check to see if they are wearing evenly. You should be able to see it just by looking but if you hvae a digital caliper, stick it on there and measure. You might also try swapping the pads from side to side.
The pad indicator Tony is talking about is just a little metal clip. It's there to tell you your pads need to be changed (or you clip needs to be adjusted).
Put the front end up on jack stands and crawl under there and look around. You never know what you'll find under there but it's good to get familiar with your suspension.
