I have On-Star for my wife's Suburban and Tahoe...it has actually come in handy two or 3 times helping others. I like to have it as a back-up to her cell phone, plus it's satellite, so it's available in areas without normal service. It gives good piece of mind to me to know that if she is unable to make a call after an accident, On-star should respond...
As far as Ford goes, I don't believe they have anything simliar...
