Running in the Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge

Last weekend I was entered in the UTTC at Virginia International Raceway.

Here's my video from when all 70 cars were on track. They then broke us into groups A & B based on times. I wasn't at my best, I've had better lap times at VIR. The heat (100+) was really hitting me.

But there were lots of really cool cars there, and you get to see most of them pass me in the warmup. Despite there being a few of the new Boss 302S models, I was the only SVT there.

The #44 white Riley was the fastest of the day and the yellow Mustang was a Ganassi COT and 3rd fastest.

Here's a video of the warmup session with all cars out. I ran faster in our timed sessions.

Here's some pics from on the track:

Glad to see you made it out to wave the SVT banner.....way out of my league! It must have been very humbling to be in such a fast crowd. I'm thrilled with a 2:15 - 2:20 lap, but when guys are doing high 1:40's...that's just insane!

Lets see...
George Winkler had a 2:03.589
Chris DeSalvo had a 2:03.666
And..Andy Vrenko had a 2:02.255! Ding Ding Ding

My best time in the UTCC was a paultry 2:22.931. I did better that a bit in TT on Sat with a 2:22.342. But that's it. Couldn't get any more out of me or the car.

Dave, I'd have been thrilled with a 2:20 too!
But it's cool having them pass you at those speeds. Just glad I didn't collect any of them.

2:02's is for sure hauling the mail.On a nice cool day I see 2:00 or a little quicker. For a factory built racecar with that kind of weight is pretty impressive.
