My sympathy.

Last year, I had a one-of-a-kind motorcycle stolen, and it still pisses me off to think about it. (It was a $10K loss, as I'd just spent $3K rebuilding and tricking-out the one-off engine and thus couldn't yet afford theft insurance--had been eating peanut butter and jelly for two months to get the engine back together, and it was stolen the very day we did the follow-up 1K-mile tune-up and dyno run.)

Stolen Tricked-Out '98 Honda VTR1000F

I hate to say this on such a negative occasion, but experience has taught me that the police don't really look for stolen vehicles, unless the police department in question happens to be engaged in some sort of sting operation--most police departments don't really have the budget to do so.

Further, a stolen sport bike is long gone as soon as it's stolen, unless you happen to chase down and shoot the bastards while they're stealing it.

Vehicle theft is epidemic in the US (especially in the Southeast and Southwest), and the Mexican mafia and Cosa Nostra are at the root--may they burn in hell.

In Cobb County GA (Atlanta metro area), over 200 vehicles per month have been stolen for well over three years running. (Check the Georgia Bureau of Investigation online stats). The police and FBI are not doing much at all to slow the epidemic of vehicle theft in the US, and I wouldn't expect that to change any time soon--what, with "Homeland Security" budgets and all.

It's time for GPS vehicle tracking--Lo-Jack and CycleTrak--, so at least we can go kick the thieves in the gonads and then steal the vehicles back.

best wishes,

Don't dispair to much yet. I had my 85 Z-28 Stolen years ago. A couple weeks after I thought it would never been seen again. The police called me and said you don't know how lucky you are they found it. They countinued with how lucky I was. I said why how many cars have been stolen from you. Of course the party said none. And I'm the lucky one cause they found it, impounded it, and charged me $85 to get it back.
At any rate the car was okay, other than the T-tops were missing and it was sitting in the rain for lord knows how many days. Insurance coverd the colum peel they did to get it and dried out the carpets, and I still have it running strong today.
They sometimes find them. Lets hope this is one of those times.

Ok guys,

The insurance is taken care of and we got the word from the dealer to go ahead and find another 93 cobra and they will replace the one that was stolen. I am looking for a 93 cobra that it is stock and in good shape, color and options do not matter. I would like one within a few hundred miles so we could inspect before buying. Our zip is 17233.

Thanks alot

Dave and Sarai
