"Nas T 97" Back on track pics!

So our local scca had there first auto-x of the season, and I got to take my "new to me" 97 cobra to the track! (I have been very impatiently waiting for over 7 months ). Anyways, the weather held out long enough for me to work and run in the dry. It was a great course, technical in the begining, and fast towards the end (got to run up to 6000 in second in 2 different sections of the course), best time were in the 54's, my best was 61.019 on street tires. So glad summer is finally here!!!!

P.S. You can see Chris and he CTS-V in the last pic...SCMC in full force!

Very, Very Nice....car looks good and glad to hear you ran well. Did you like the suspension set-up? First time you have had a chnace to really test it I would guess.

Talk with you soon....

Yeah, it was the first time I was able to really push her! Very solid car, really need to improve the driver mod . Sounds fricken unbelievable at WOT. Once I learn how to use them, I am really going to love the brakes. I guess the only place that I would like to improve (other than a cage so I can go open trackin) is the seats and belts. Going from recaro's with 6 point harnesses to stock 97 Lazy-boy's with a seat belt that retracts from the top AND BOTTOM really leaves a lot to be desired. I just purchased some stock seat belts off ebay from a 96, that have a solid mount at the bottom, so that will help alot, but I have to pull the light bar to swap them out, and that is a little bigger project I felt like taking on right now. Hopefully before the next autocross!

Keep in touch....can't wait to see the new cobra!

Try to keep Saturday 5/31 open in the a.m. as a muffler swap out for your Cobra is being planned along with an install on your Dad's '04 and my '03. Looking to do an article in Snakebite about the event w/ pics, etc...

More to follow soon.

By the way....love the Vanity Plate!

I will try to keep the 31st open, but I am going to have to play it by ear. Colleen's birthday is the 29th, and I am not sure if we are going to celebrate it the weekend before or after. But I really want to go, maybe just run up there for the day.

If you happen to talk with Gus you have to ask him what he does with the trial prototype products. I would love to swap out the exhaust on my new project car (86 hatch with a 93 cobra motor, 95 cobra front suspension, 04 cobra rear IRS suspension and exhaust) and run a corsa exhaust. It currently has a flowmaster exhaust, and on the highway, it droans REALLY bad. I would be more than willing to put corsa stickers all over the car and be a rolling billboard.

I did still win my class and that's all that matters I guess, in hindsight it might have been more fun to run ESP with you guys though.

There is a auto-x driver's school on the 3rd, and then a normal points event on the 4th. I would like to do both, but might have to choose one or the other. The driver school is nice, and I have done it the past 2 years. They try and set everybody up with a local experienced driver of similar vehicle type, and have them ride around with you. THe really nice thing about the driver school, is that last year, I think I got like 13 or 14 runs in. Where at a normal points event, you get 4 or 5 if you are lucky. Let me know what you are thinking, as the school usually fills up fast, and you have to pre-resister, no walk-ins for the school. You register on dlbracing.com

Well, I think we are going to have family plans on sat, so no auto-x school for me. But as of right now, I am still going to the points event on Sunday.
