Considering purchase of 97 SVT convert

Newbie here.

I found a '97 with 80,000 mi, appears to be very good shape. New clutch and bearing, new top and carpets. He wants $12500.

Are there any typical "issues" I should be aware of on this car?

Thanks for any info,..

Bob

I can't find much in the way of published values for this year of Mustang SVT Cobra convertible, so I don't know if 12,500 is a good price or not. It seems a bit stiff for a 16 year old car.

Go to autotrader.com and price them out. I thought 12,500 was too much but I thought you already had the wheels in motion?

$12.5K is steep for a 97 with 80K miles. A few more thousand and you can be in an 03 cobra.

I think I'll offer him $9,500 and give no more than $10,000.

Thanks,

Bob
