Open VIR Track Event with S.H.O. Club

Greetings all! The National SHO Club is having our annual car convention down in Charlotte, NC this year and on Wednesday, July 20th, we will be having our mid-week track day at VIR!

While we have traditionally limited our track days to our own club, the VIR track is so large and with the cost of renting the track being high we are opening up our track day to any fellow members of clubs associated with the Ford Performance Group or the SVT Cobra Club! The typical registration fee is also being waived for those attending just a single event of the convention such as the VIR road course.
Our track day includes some classroom and in-car driver instruction for beginners/novices. During the day, we also will do a noon pace-car led parade lap for charity (Red Cross) in which passengers are allowed in the cars to see the full track.

Our registration, driver information and track tech forms are all posted to our SHOCLUB.COM website for more information. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 309-349-2800 or email at webmaster@shoclub.com.

Thank you to anyone who is able to join us!

Can you believe it??? The 20th National SHO Convention in Charlotte, NC will occur in just ONE MONTH!!

The convention is getting closer to that breakeven point we shoot for every year, but we still need drivers for the VIR road course AND The Rock drag race! All of our forms (registration, driver, & tech) are available up on the SHO Club website.

Currently we have members from 22 states and 1 Canadian province attending! The Monday Reception at the Roush-Fenway museum and garage in Concord, NC will have a great BBQ dinner, tour of the main garage, and our signature helmet on display! Tickets for a chance to win one of five VIP Tours on Tuesday, will be on sale for $1 each throughout the evening. All money from these tickets sales are being donated to charity!

The Tuesday car show is open to all SHO's and non-SHO vehicles alike, and will be in the parking lot directly next to the hotel. Take advantage of a discount at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and then enjoy dinner downtown.

Wednesday at VIR we let our SHO's loose at this 1500 acre resort/track and run on the 3.27 mile Full Track Circuit! All forms are now available online via the SHO Club website, and we still are in need of drivers to help us break even on the costs! We've also just confirmed that the track and our insurance policy allows us to run helmets rated SA or M 2000 as well! So those not wanting to shell out for a new helmet need not worry any longer!

Thursday we welcome the drags back to the SHO Convention for the first time since 2007 in Kalamazoo where we ran at the US31 in Michigan. Who has what it takes to be our next King of the Hill? The Thursday evening banquet will conclude the convention awards including the SHO-N-GO award that will be the overall winner from the week with the highest points total from all activities attended: Reception Pit Crew Challenge, Car Show, Distance Taurus SHO was Driven/Trailored to Convention, Participation in VIR track day, and "The Rock" Drag Race. Participation in all activities is not required, but the vehicle used must be a Taurus SHO (except in Pit Crew Challenge) to be eligible. Ford has also confirmed they'll be sending along some wicked cool giveaways AND information on the new 2013 Taurus SHO which some of our members from the Northeast got to check out at the New York Auto Show!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
