AI/X - Labor Day at VIR

August 8, 2005: NASA Big Bore Drivers to battle it out at VIR Stock Car Spectacular
American Iron and Camaro Mustang Challenge to race at VIR's Stock Car Spectacular on labor Day weekend.

NASA is pleased to announce that VIR has invited some of NASAís most popular racing series to participate in its second annual Stock Car Spectacular. American Iron, including Camaro Mustang Challenge will pound the ground with its big V-8 cars and ultra close racing. This race represents the last of the American Iron East Coast Championship races and it is hotly contested between Bob Kaser, Beau Dunnivant, and Bryan Shugg.

Also, Factory Five will hold itís annual Nationals at VIR to determine the National Champion of the Factory Five race series.

The drivers would also like to extend an invitation to all SCMC members to come out to the track if you can and visit and watch some great on-track action all weekend long! Also, True Blue Performance will be on hand with their dyno, so if you are interested in seeing what your car can do, bring it on!!

The races will take place on the VIR Full Course (3.27 miles) and the event will occur over the three days of September 2,3 and 4, 2005.

Racers will be treated to over three hours of track time. The schedule can be found at www.virclub.com. In addition, any AI or CMC driver that runs at VIR during the Stock Car Spectacular will earn a FREE weekend at either the October Rockingham event or the September Summit Point event. This would save racers over $200. Jim Pantas and Chris Cobetto have both spent a great deal of time and work on this and we all appreciate their efforts.

As always, the American Iron Series and drivers would like to thank our sponsors: BBK Performance, Brothers Performance Warehouse, Maximum Motorsports, Stteda Autosports, Toyo Tires, and of course, True Blue Performance (919-639-3105), for lugging their dyno up and down the east coast for us to most of the races this season. American Iron would also like to welcome CV Products to the mix and thank them for their support and for offering up some product certificates that all drivers can contend for. Their website can be found at www.cvproducts.com. Check out the site because they have tons of parts!

NOTE: VIR is handling all Pre-Registration Entry price is $375 for the three day weekend up to Midnight, August 23, 2005. Entry rises to $425 on August 24, 2005. GET YOUR ENTRIES IN EARLY!!!! Drivers may register by printing off an entry form at http://www.virclub.com/cms/downloads...n_stockcar.pdf or by contacting Christa Allen at 434-822-7700 ext. 116.

Your entry fee includes the following:
Passes for one driver and three crew
1 support vehicle Paddock Pass
2 Camping permits
Invitation for Driver and crew to the Welcome Reception at the VIR Clubhouse
See you trackside!

I guess I will be at VIR as I made it through the Pocono enduro last weekend undamaged. I tried to call the # for registration but got no reply, is it too late to send in the entry in the mail? I really don't want to get hit for the extra $50.

Try the number again. (434)822-7700, ext. 116. You can fax in your entry at (434)822- 8033. The Contact person, Christa Allen, told me that a copy of your NASA competition license will do for your medical because it has a medical expiration date printed on it. Hurry up! I think you have until tommorrow, so do it today.

Sorry Steve... I don't really come in here too often. I'll be in Knoxville running our 411 AX. You should try it sometime and bring your dad with you.

Well I'm not Tony (I'm better looking and SMARTER! ) but the 411 AX is an event we've held I believe twice before in Knoxville, TN. It is a figure 8 track that we setup an autocross track on and run the cars! I haven't been yet but I hear it is great fun and faster than most AX events because of the track we use. Hope this helps!

Come on, any more detail, like was anyone able to upset the perennial powerhouse of VIR, Mr. Shugg, or did he prove to be too fast for everyone?

Qualifying order, race finishing order?

Who was dynoed and how much power did they make?

Where is the excitement?
