Stainless brake lines

As some of you know I bought a set of Russell Stainless Brake Lines for my 94 Cobra. The 94/95 model year has 5 lines and the problem I had with the lines is that they will not seal up to my factory stainless steel lines that go to the rear calipers, therefore causing brake fluid to leak out from around the flanged area and stainless lines.

I then called Russell's customer service line in CA but got disconnected. It took about 15 minutes to finally get a tech on the line with me. While on the call, the rep said he knew what set I was talking about but never heard of the problem. Seems like someone else told me they had this problem. I figure it to be a factory defect. I am definitely not pleased with the problems these lines have caused me not to mention the track time I lost two weeks ago for their poorly constructed product. Both Dan from Pro-Dyno and myself tried to get these things to work to no avail.

I do not recommend anyone with these model year Cobras to buy these type lines for factory replacements. I am going to send my old line off to a new place in NY that makes up custom brake lines that are DOT certified and will let you know how it turns out when I get the lines back, hopefully by next week.

I also bought Russell ss braided front brake lines before I went to CMP. The drivers side leaked really bad when the brakes were applied. Harris Racing re-flared the original line for the new ss line to seal/fit properly. Luckily I found this problem a couple of days before I went to CMP or I would have had a close up look at a tire barrier!
