Brake Rotor question, Slotted or Drilled

I use my 96 Cobra for track events, ocasional driving and Auto-Cross.
I noticed the last time I was on the track (Sebring Fl.) I had brake fade after a few laps. I had new Hawk Pads and knew that the brakes would fade somewhat. The brake fluid was fresh with High temp fluid.
I am now leaning towards new Brembo rotors and want to know if anyone knew if slotted rotors are better than drilled?
Also plan on installing cooling hoses as well.

Drilled rotors are prone to cracking, especially when used on track and for autocross events so I would not use them.

sorry I pressed the wrong button in the poll. only slotted rotors at the track. I run sebring a few times a year and the best thing you can do is cooling ducts.
there are to many high speed short bursts that lead into intense braking zones.
welcome to the site from another orlando resident. just so you know they opened a small central fl road course. its just south of the fl mall.http://cfroadcourse.com/default.aspx I'm going to run there on saturday with a few guys if you want to come check it out.

Brembo OEM blanks from Tire Rack (or anywhere else) is all you need for a rotor. More important is to get brake ducts installed... that is the key to preventing brake fade and increasing longevity of pads and rotors.

As stated, drilled rotors will crack. Enough said.

Do enough track events and you will come to understand that rotors are disposable items, the same as pads, oil and gasoline. They are a cost of doing a track event.

Thanks everyone

I have come to the understanding that Slotted are better than Drilled.
I saw only 1 Cobra at the event this weekend and he belonged to another club. I did learn ALOT though.

if you went to the cent fl road course the only other cobra was Ed's white 03. I had to leave at 12:30. we'll catch up at another time.

Good name brand cross drilled rotors wont crack. Merecedes puts them on all AMG cars.
