Lowering the Cobra

Hey Gang,

I'm thinking about lowering my (nearly) bone stock '03. This will be purely for appearance sake, I don't track the car.

The stock height leaves too much wheelwell showing.

My car-

Here is the look I'm after:

T

What advice would you guys have to achieve this?

Thanks very much!

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how the ride quality is with H & R, by chance? Oh, and the amount of drop?

Thanks again!

Think it over carefully before you lower your car. I know it looks good but if you think its hard pulling in and out of some places now without scraping, then its 10 times worse after lowering!

Trent03- That's really good advice, thank you. I will definitely take that into consideration.

Mrpork- Your car looks awesome! So, those are the H & R with about a 1.5" drop? Is that right?

I really like the wheels you have. What kind are they?
_____

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it very much! Now I'm thinking the Eibach springs with just about 1" of drop, so I have a better look but minimize the scraping problem.
Any thoughts on those springs?

Mrpork's car looks outstanding, but that may be too low for some of the places I am in and out of.

If it does'nt already have 18's on it , that can change the stance and look of a car by itself.. especially if you are thinking about changing wheel style.

to me springs are essential for improved looks of the car. Also the lowered car helps with wheel hop. I used Eibach prokit on my past car (04 cobra). Is it possible to scrape yes. I really did not find it all that bad and I had my car a few years. Oh here is a pic

Beautiful cars! Wow!

Your Cobra looks "just right" with the Eibach's. I'm leaning that way. Did you have to put camber plates in too?

And that Shelby!! Oh man...did you have to post that too! Now I really want one!

Mine has Steeda springs. The ride and handling is still good without beating you to death. It's hard to tell by the pic but the front chin spoiler is only a couple inches at most off the ground. You can look at the different sites for springs and they will tell you how far they will lower the car.

By the way mine has 18's on it, 18's look best on these cars IMO

H&R SS lowering spring. No real issues, just need to approach curbs with more caution.
