Unhappy Had a accident Saturday

I was at Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC, and my car broke loose the very moment I hit 4th, and I hit the wall at over 100 MPH. I broke at the 1000 FT mark, and crossed the 1/4 at over 100 MPH. I was very fortunate not to have been seriously hurt or killed, and my car did a hell of a job protecting me, but its gone.

Glad you are o.k. I know your are upset, because I know how much you loved your Cobra, and it sure did look good at Pro-Dyno a couple of Saturday's ago. I enjoyed running with you from Columbia to Fort Mill, and I hope you are back in the saddle soon. Stay positive that you are all right!

Is there any Insurance help when you are on the Dragstrip?

Thanks!

Yeah loosing my car really bummed me out. Right know I'm thinking I will keep it, and in the future look for a good New Edge chassis to swap all my good parts over to. Pretty much build a replica of my Cobra.(Sonic Blue and everything)

Unforunaty it doesn't appear that my insurrance will be helping me. I have them re-examing my claim though. I still have about $9,300 to pay on it.

I'm probably going to get a fairly high mileage Lightning thats in good shape.

Sucks to see, its good that your alright because thats one hell of a wreck.

What exactly can you insurance do if you wrecked at the track? I've always wondered if people even claim that stuff since it wouldnt be covered under regular insurance.

Insurrance doesn't cover your car if you wreck at a Racing facility. I wish I would of known that before I did it, but I didn't think about it.

Its pretty sorry how they won't cover you for running at a track where its legal and where the law tell you to run your car, but you can get out on the road and start playing around in your car, and acting stupid on a public road, and rap it around a tree and they'll cover it.

Man I really hate this for you....

I would fight it with every inch of my body....

I mean thats some crap....I would want a paper showing me where I signed it that it would cover me at something like this..

Because there has to be a paper somewhere.....and if the insurance sales person didn't clairfy it I would fight the heck out of it...even if you paid a lawyer..

your talking close to $20k here

Insurance

I'm sorry that you wrecked your car. I feel that any accident you can walk away from is a good accident. I guess when we choose to run our cars at a track, we all agree to assume the risks in doing so.

Some Insurance companies cover track events and some do not, You need to check the wording in your policy. It would be located in the physical damage part of your policy under condiations. You can request a denial letter from your Insurance Company and the letter will list the location of the denial in your policy.

You should be able to claims this loss on your taxes next year. Good Luck.

Sorry to see the loss of your car. Good to hear you are OK. Another issue with insurance, if thy do not cover the loss of vehicle while at a track, they will also not cover medical expenses on the same basis (depending on your insurance policy).

Do you have any idea why you lost control of your car?

Good luck with everything. I hope things turn out for you.

Yes I still have it and am selling some stuff off it, but I also have a new Foxbody I picked up and am using many of the parts off my Cobra on it, and the gas tank is one of them.

Sorry,

Jesse
