Installing Hardtail IRS on my Cobra

Finally getting around to doing this right! Perhaps one day soon this car will finally see an open track!! The first two pics are the custom hardtail subframe and the third is with the third member solid mount with space for the billetflow brace. Fourth pic is Cobra with stock 01 IRS. Next week; the change...

That looks great.

As for the billet-flow brace, why not improve and get an LFP cover for added strength. (not sure if the billet-flow brace will fit). Even better if Fore precision works has any of the covers left since they dropped it from their offering.

I already have the billet flow... kinda like a bird in the hand. The Fore piece is definitely sexy, though!! The subframe should go in next week.

Dude! That car is going to be so fast, that when you finally come out to a track event to play with us, it's going to scare the crap out of you, and you may not want come back!!

LOL! Just kidding!
At least I hope it won't.
Maybe this fall you will come out and flog it at one the events, I'd love to see you really use that capability in a safe environment and have some SERIOUS FUN with it!

Car is SICK!!

Thanks fellas!! Sorry its been ahwile... the install went very well! After the test ride I was very impressed! I havent upgraded my control arm bushings yet but the rear has NO side to side movement save tire roll and except for a little noise it is perfect! Prior to the install my rear end was offset to the driver side by almost a half inch!! I fabbed the hardtail on an 04 and it woudnt fit in the fox. After a bit of lower frame mount massaging with a porta ram it mounted up perfectly. I guess my straight axle lower control arms had tweaked a pickup point.
Looking forward to some track time! I found one of my front struts to be leaking some fluid so that is next on the list of upgrades! I need more budget...

The brace fits perfectly! I accounted for it when i had the diff mount fabbed. With the aluminum front mounts and the BF in the rear, the diff isn't going anywhere in any direction. I think right now that my irs conversion is the most extreme one time upgrade I have done to date.
