T56 Tranny

The T56 calls for Transmission Fluid, rather than Gear Oil.
My Question:
How do you get an accurate reading; when the Cobra has to be jacked up
to get under it ?
Thanks
Steve

Get the car as level as possible on jack stands, drain tranny, add the transmission fluid through fill hole until a little runs out and you will be good. The Ford Service book says to fill to just under fill hole level. The capacities page is really close on the amount to use.
