95 Cobra Fuel Lines

I had a small engine fire, that damaged my fuel lines. I would like to keep the Cobra I have stock. Does anyone out there have the fuel lines from the firewall to the fuel rail for a 95 Cobra? Or does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a pair. I need both the supply and return lines. My email is: brolsen1967@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Brian O.

Hi Brian,

If you (or others) do not know already, there have been quite a few reported instances of 94/95 5.0 engine fires due to the actual fuel lines coming off the steel chassis lines to the engine fuel rails failing, which is the cause of said fires. Ford has done nothing about this (I'm not sure why) and I'm not sure if owners have or are reporting these fire events to the NHTSA, so that they can get on Ford's back about it, as it is a safety issue (and these cars are still on the roads today).

Personally, I would not attempt to replace those lines with any "used" stock lines, more so, lines that have high mileage on them, as that can be another future fire hazard if you opt to install used lines.

I don't want to start any site to site issues, however, hopefully the mods will allow the below info. There has been a sticky'd thread over on Corral for quite some time now which outlines the fire hazard issues. There is also another thread in which many Corralers petitioned Russel Performance to design and manufacture braided SS fuel lines to replace the fire prone lines - AND Russel did come through and now manufactures direct replacements.

Link to fire hazard facts:
http://forums.corral.net/forums/94-9...rd-issues.html

Link to the Russel Performance replacement info:
http://forums.corral.net/forums/94-9...uel-lines.html

If you wish to design and/or make your OWN fuel lines out of aftermarket components, this thread also goes into depth about the Russel fuel line fittings that they came out with which are specific to the 94/95 5.0's:
http://forums.corral.net/forums/94-9...uel-lines.html

I do not wish to hear of any misfortune from a 94/95 Cobra owner, or a GT owner due to these hazardous lines deteriorating over time, so Mods, PLEASE STICKY this thread (OR the info within) at the top of this forum as well. This is a real issue of concern and it is only beneficial to new members or those that have not heard or do not know of the potential of a melt down.

I hope the info contained within is very helpful to you Brian.
