SCMC Buys A Brick

SCMC Members,

Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of today's fast paced society. SCMC receives numerous requests from various charities every year but unfortunately we just cannot give to every one of them. We can however give to some of our favorites and the ones we strongly believe in which includes the St Jude Children's Research Hospital. www.stjude.org

The Research hospital treats and cares for children who have cancer causing illnesses and continues to support parents that do not have the money to pay for services. Insurance will only go so far, and while we cannot help everyone, we can help a few along the way.

Movie star, Danny Thomas, founded the hospital in 1962 and it has grown to an extremely large non-profit organization. He created a great way to support those in need!

Back in February, SCMC was sent a letter to purchase a brick for the hospital for a new walkway at the facility. I knew we were going to get involved in that because the brick would have the club's name engraved in it and would be visible for quite a long time. What better way to be remembered as a group all the while giving help and support to a worthy cause?

SCMC gives to numerous charities located where we conduct car shows and events. While we all get to enjoy going to track events, cruises, and car shows, let's not forget that part of our responsibility as a car club is to be able to help those in need. I hope that all of you will be proud of our club and realize that there is more to the SCMC than collecting money for social functions and events.
