Question clay bar

I have heard alot about the "clay bar" but I really don't understand how it is used and what it does. I've heard it can take out a few impurities in the paint but does it do anything else. As in does it help the shine. I bought some of the Meguiars clay at the fall foodlion autofair but haven't gotten around to using it yet. Kind of skeptical about using a product I'm not familiar with what it does.

i used the zaino clay bar, and i was IMPRESSED! I could actually feel the paint getting smoother as i clayed. it came with great instructions, and was very simple to use. basically you use their car wash mixed with water to create a soapy lubricant between the paint and the clay. the clay picks up stuff off the paint, you can see when you are done, and as you are going, all the junk on there. the zaino clay was very pliable, and you will be constantly folding it over kinda like play dough as you go. i definatly recomment the zaino product over the meguiars. i used meguiars a long time ago, and i remember the clay being much more difficult to work with. just my personal experience...

Zaino sounds like awesome stuff I will definetly have to try it out. Thanks for the advice. One more question though, the clay won't scratch the paint or anything will it. That is one of my main concerns. Hate to mess up the Rio Red. What color is there that is better than Rio Red??? Feel kinda stupid asking but what does RRCC stand for...Rio Red Cobra Club???

Yep thats the RRCC... nope, no color is better than rio red, i think torch red is a close second though. Nope, the clay wont scratch. they recommend to wash the car with Dawn first to remove all wax, then clay it. just be sure to use a lot of the soapy water for lubricant. im sure you will learn all about it at the detail day. check out the zaino site if you havent already...
