I know I've linked this here before, but I'm still a large believer in this:

I dig mine.

I wish more racers wore SOMETHING. ANY head and neck device is better than NO head and neck device. Not saying one device is better than the next, just saying...

Also - I really really dig this seat:

Specifically, the wings that surround the drivers helmet.

I just purchased the Wright Device ( after looking through all of the testing data. For the price you can't beat it! ($160.00 shipped to your door) Comparing the deceleration values to similar (more expensive) units on the market the choice was quite clear to me.

You can actually build it yourself economically or buy it outright from Jay Wright in Texas. It is basically a body harness (normal confined space rescue or overhead working safety harness commercially available) altered to add a seatbelt buckle release system that attaches to 3 straps that clip onto the face opening of your helmet.

Great device, especially if you have an older helmet that does not have the restraint attaching hardware. I like the fact that I will no longer have to wear that damn neck collar. It seem quite comfortable, does not seem to impede my exit from the car and on top of everything else would give safety crews more places to grab to drag my limp body out of the vehicle in case of the worse.

My hats is off to Jay - he paid the ultimate price already! Almost too cheap not to have one!

Black Horse,

Thanks for giving Jay your business. He's a good guy. We helped with some of his testing and believe that his is the best buy of all webbing-based products.
