Many Thanks

If it seamed like I was picking everybody's brain on why my cobra was not running correctly, well I was and I thank you for your answers. After replacing the plugs, pulling the upper intake and checking for restricted air flow, cleaning out the throttle body, new cap and rotor, running injector cleaner through, bumping up the timing, etc. etc., I finally found the problem, and it is usually the first thing that I change on a car when it isn't performing, the fuel filter. I could barely blow through it. Oh, I forgot to mention some little electrode that I bought to make the engine think that cooler air is coming into the engine, the jury is still out on this. After I changed the fuel filter, I cleaned the MAF elements with a Q-tip and alcohol, you can't clean them properly by just spraying brake cleaner in there, only one side gets clean. Then I brought the timing back down to 14, took that electrode out and last night it ran like a rabbit, (less than a half tank of gas helped also). I had to call my wife and warn her about the power the next time she drives it, she informed me that she has already had it side ways with a damp shower on the road. I'd better inform her again when I finally get those 3.55 out of my garage and into the car. I think I'll leave everthing else stock except for the 3.55, I can beat my friends 94 GT now, which was mine 3 months ago. How embarrassing would that be to spend 4K more on a Cobra, with half the miles than a GT, sell it to your best friend and get smoked. Not going to happen now.
If anybody wants to know how to turn your driving lights into day time running lights, it's pretty easy to do, especially on a conv.
Thanks and God Bless
jeff

Glad you found the problem! You will be happy with the 3.55's. Just a side note, you might run into problems in the future with cutting out above 5500 or 5800 rpm, especially in 1st and 2nd. My friends 95, and my 94 both had this problem. It turned out to be a faulty TFI module (rectangular module by your air inlet tube on the passenger strut tower). I picked up a replacement one from www.performancedistributors.com, and was cured. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks, I'll write that down and keep that stored away so I'll know what the problem is, if I have a problem. How did people survive without help from the internet? I guess they just replaced alot of unnecessary parts.
Thanks and God Bless
