Summit Point Results

Here are the results from this weekend for the AI races. The car count was low, but the racing was very competitive. Bryan Shugg had the pole on Saturday, and Brian Smith had it on Sunday. There were no AIX cars at this race.

Saturday results: Best lap in race
1 Bryan Shugg #67 1:24.013
2 Robert Kaser #90 (new to AI) 1:24.939
3 Brian Smith #69 1:26.038
4 Beau Dunnivant#68 1:25.566

Sunday results:
1 Beau Dunnivant #68 1:25.633
2 Brian Smith #69 1:26.609
DNS Bryan Shugg #67
DNS Robert Kaser #90

Brian Smith lead every lap of the Sunday race except the last one. This was good, tight, crowd pleasing racing even though the car count was low. Come on guys. Wipe the cob webs off those race cars and get them to the track! VIR north is next.

What happened to Shugg? Was there only 4 cars total?

Shugg went on vacation. There was only four cars there. There are a handful of cars going through the comp school at VIR that should be racing with us on Sunday

It looks like Mr. Shugg has a new track record. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the old record at Summit was 1:24.650 held by Richard Kohler. Bryan ran a 1:24.013 in the race on Saturday.

Thanks John. I hope this is the first of many. Actually, I am sad that you are retired, because if you were there in the race, you would have some great video footage of my car crossing the finish line for my first win.

So, does that mean you'd like me to install a camera pointing backwards when when I bring the car out to race?

No Frank, I would hate for you to spin out on the last turn of the last lap. LOL

I talked to Brian Smith last night and it ends up he broke the heim on the left side of his front swaybar. I guess the explains it when he mentioned that his car started handling weird during the race.

That is not good. He had said that his car was bad on the left handers (5 and 7 but not so much 3) especially. It was very slick out there though. I figured that was the problem.

I appreciate your concern.

At least you didn't make some insensitive comment about lapping me before the finish.

Oh yeah, thanks for the beer!
