We already know about it, we are getting our name in the pot. It would probably be a Fall event but not in September....(Gingerman). Probably October though..

Don't have a link just ran across an article in a news post about this new track. I think JohnBASF knows some more info.

Are you going to Atlanta next weekend? What time is the race? I am thinking about coming down to watch.
Also I am thinking about doing the MM K-member and A arms and a coilover conversion. That and maybe a blower and I might be able to keep up with my wife and her Z06 for a little while longer!!!!!

We'll be at RA. It would be great to see you guys down there. I am not sure when the race is but I am sure that it will be posted on the NASA SE web sight by now. The MM front end stuff will help your car a bunch. Give me a call when you are ready.

Yes, there are very serious plans for an approx. 2.2 mile course located near Salisbury, NC, about 10 minutes from my place . It is called High Rock International Raceway and is located next to the Yadkin river between Hwy. 29 and I85. The terrain is great and will make for a fun track with some killer elevation changes. I have been lucky enough to meet the guys doing it and get a tour of the place, so needless to say, I am VERY pumped about it.

Getting a date shouldn't be an issue, I don't believe. Just won't be in 2006. They are aiming at opening the track portion of the complex in early 2007.

questionable future

I was bumbed to learn that this track may not reach pavement. I hear no construction has started. Check out the article in the Salisbury Post- money issues, the county commissioners are being lobbied to reconsider the permit and there is a lawsuit.

Anybody hear anything else?

Here's a link to a local web page tracking the progress of the track. It looks like local residents are against it and are actively working to block it's construction. Last I checked the track's webite was down too.
