PT Cruiser.. GOT to be kidding!

So, yesterday was a dreary rainy miserable day here in NC. Cold, windy, rainy. One of those days which made me glad I replaced my slicks w/ new Falcon 275's in the rear. I'm headed back to work from my late lunch and already annoyed by the dopey NC drivers (ya'll don't need to panic break for a little rain).

I'm at one of 3 lights on my journey back to work (David knows the trip...down Independece). I cross the first light & some fool in PT Cruiser goes whipping past and nealy clears the ground w/ the crown of the intersecting road (Oleander, David). As the mall traffic subsides to the left, my lane clears out ahead of me & the mall light turns yellow. I let off the gas assuming this kid will run it. Nope. He jacks on the brakes to stay next to me.

I look over to my right, & he is staring hard laying waaaaay back in his seat (makes the car faster, right?) The light turns & I resist the temptation to squash him. It's a school zone ahead & afterschool soccer is going on. He romps on it & I let him go. But the 3rd light ahead at school goes yellow. Kid LOCKS his brakes up (must have e-braked) & skids to a stop on wet pavement. He's now BEGGING me to stomp him.

I roll down my window & he's yellin' "Cmon lets do this."
I yell back, "A$$hole, it's a PT Cruiser...even if it WAS turbo, it's STILL Slow!"

Light turns. I ride out the clutch in 1st to prevent total loss of traction w/ letting loose the horses on wet pavement. I only wind up to about 5000 rpms to prevent breaking loose in the transfer to 2nd... I dump the clutch in second, waggle a little...by this time he's already a car length behind. Get up to 70, then let 4th gear bring me back down to 50 (speed limit's 45).

He finally catches up & follows me to the entrance of where I work. I pull over just to harass him & say... "You GOT OWNED by a rear wheel drive muscle car in the RAIN, you really AREN'T the sharpest TOOL driving a PT Cruiser."

He had no reply.

Hope y'all enjoyed.

A PT cruiser?! OMG...that's up there with neons and minivans!

This kid was such a doofus, but im more then likely guessin that he was just wantin to prove to himself that he might be able to keep up with a cobra, or at least see one in action

You really gotta ask yourself from time to time what most of these people's motives are...i mean, they know their gonna get killed

The ones that i know i'll blow away are the ones that i repetitivly pull up to consecutive lights, and keep letting them make morons of themselves when they hop their front-wheel drive ricermobiles and then speed off in an illusionous "fast" rage. When you continually just let them go, they eventually start to feel so stupid and if they don't....i don't know which is the bigger loser

Yeah, but isn't it kinda cute seeing the kids grow up and driving a mini van like their mom and thinking theirs is cool? Or better yet that kid I saw that riced out his mom's caravan.

A few gentlemen down the street from me of the South American dialect have actually lowered their minivan & put 20" bling bling chrome rims on it. Quite funny.

Savesacre, I think the funniest part of ignoring them & letting them whiz off is this scenario...

They will most probably brag to their group of friends how they beat a "Mustang with a snake on the side." Of all their friends, ONE must know something about cars... and he/she will say to the kidiot:
"Wait, you're trying to tell me that you beat a Cobra in your rice-mobile? You are a fool, to think you would win. The guy in the Cobra just let you make a fool of yourself."

I've had a few conversations with one of the Sheriff Persuit Drivers here in New Hanover County. He drives an unmarked 04 Terminator Cop car. Only BROWN Cobra with yellow pinstripe I've ever seen (painted custom for the squad car). He once told me of all the ricers he's pulled over and simply asked them "First... How did you think you would beat a Cobra? Second... How did you think you could beat the law?"

Never EVER race a Brown Cobra in NC!!!!! (hint hint)

They are definitely a bunch of geniuses!

My favorite part is where they talk about Cobras racing anything. Yeah, I go around wasting my time racing 4 cyl cars with a total power output that is a small fraction of the power output my Cobra has at 1500 rpm. I have better things to do.

Of course, let's not forget those loaded down tractor trailers. What a rush when you pull away from them in 1st gear doing 20 mph.

That thread calls for two teal testicles rolling on floor laughing!

Funny how different their message board is than ours is...
Hmm... We post kill stories (and even stories of how we've been owned are man enough to admit it), and they are realistic & true.

They post total garbage. It's a PROBE msg board & a Probe kid is baggin on a Cobra about a DSM... and it was his "friend's" DSM????

I bet he also asked his priest about his "FRIEND'S" gay tendancies, right????

PUHLEEASE!

I got owned by my neighbor's Honda CRV. Yep, I did. I was parked at my house & BBQ'in on the grill, & he walked my Cobra. Yep. Beat me fair & square. I didn't even have a chance to start the car!

I wonder what my father-in-law would think of that board. He sold his 89 probe GT to buy his 97 Cobra. Maybe if he had seen that board first he would have realized he was buying a slower car!
