I won't call this a kill, but just some interesting info. On the way to the dyno (before my car bit it), we had a small "cruise" down to Jacksonville. Just 4 or 5 of us. Me and my friend's '03 black cobra coupe. As fate would have it, we ended up at a light. We were heading out of town, and there is absolutely nothing (crosswalks, high traffic etc. etc.) that would usually deter me. Let me be the first to say that i don't do much street racing, and there are obvious reasons for it. But i couldn't pass up this opportunity to see how these boosted ponies would differ in real time, side by side confrontation. We look at eachother at the light, and give eachother a slight nod. We're game. I've never launched this car, so i played it conservative. I knew that once the tires broke traction, they wouldn't hook back up until the high rpms of second. GREEN! I slip the clutch and the tach holds steady at 2500rpms. ('03 is out of the hole strong) Right away I lose a car length, maybe a little more. I come down on the gas slowly but steadily trying to keep the tires from cooking. 6000rpms come quickly with my foot at about 3/4 throttle, a quick but smooth shift to second gets me moving again.. ('03 about a car length ahead) 4000 rpms, and vortech reminds me why i paid $4XXX for it. The centrifical blower showed it's high rpm capability from 4000 to 6000rpms. I gained that car length back and then some. I popped it up the third quick-n-smooth, and then rolled right back into the throttle. I let off at about 85 or so, and was a good 1.5 car lengths ahead and pulling slowly but surely. Not that i wasn't surprised, but I almost found out the hard way. The '03 cobras are definately a force on the street. This particular car laid down 381rwhp and a very broad torque curve a few hours after our encounter. I escaped a close one, but my cobra lost a battle with itself a few hours later.

Worth the money that's for sure. If i could do it again, i'd go with an '03 though.
